This effort is transforming so-called drainage ditches, sewers, and waste channels back into rivers, streams, and natural waterways.

It is a huge undertaking that is reversing centuries of degradation and misuse of rivers and streams.

At the same time, it is expanding children’s knowledge in history, geography, science, and mathematics. Using the river as a theme, the school curriculum becomes more engaging and relevant.
